April 9-11 I travelled with Katie for two days to Bern Switzerland and then to Zurich for one.  We thought it was really cool when, as our train emerged from a long tunnel, the sky was suddenly filled with snowflakes!  We were less thrilled then, when the snowflakes mixed with rain and continued for the next 48 hours.  However, it was a change of scenery, and the home of Toblerone chocolate!

There's even a sad little rooster
The astronomical clock in Bern. Much less impressive than others I've seen

Rather pretty by night, actually
The tower of the munster in Bern

Another church...
Inside the Munster

Yeah, I don't get it either
A window with the "Dance of Death," a theme we saw several times in Bern

Did I mention I'm a nerd?
Me sitting at Einstein's desk

This is the beginning of a running theme in Bern.
A figure of a bear, the namesake of Bern, outside the train station.

Work it, baby, work it!
The third bear in the pit. She's a diva and she knows it.

See, I told you it was a theme
The bears in the bear pit

Stuffed for your entertainment pleasure
Remember cartoons with a St. Bernard who saved people in the snow? He existed. Here's Barry.

Yeah, I know I'm a nerd

Yet another scenic view
Zurich from the top of the Grossmunster tower

You'd think I'd get tired of churches...
The Grossmunster

Claustropobia, anyone?
The immensly narrow stairs leading to the top of the Grossmunster

Pretty building, too.
The Swiss Museum, where I spent most of the afternoon

Annoying little buggers though
The birdies who begged for pieces of my crepe. They were hilarious when I tossed out a bit

Stuttgart!!
Okay, this isn't in Switzerland, this is in Stuttgart, but it was the next day. The soccer stadium.

Ihr werd' nach Hause fahren!!
Just a few short minutes later, the insanity of the pregame...
